Dorothea May Brown

Dorothea May Brown, age 88 passed away on January 06, 2014. She was born on May 06, 1925 in Steubenville, OH to the late Hugh and Emma (Brittle) Arthurs. Dorothea was a 1943 graduate of Big Red High School in Steubenville. She married Kenneth W. Brown on August 09, 1946 and they shared almost 60 years until his passing on July 01, 2006. Dorothea was a woman of many interests; she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, shopping, reading crossword puzzles, cooking and baking. She was member of Brewster United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, who will be sorely missed by her family. Dorothea is survived by her children; Kenny (Phyllis) Brown of Steubenville, OH, Susan (Mike) Alexander Beach City OH, Bruce (Becky) Brown of Massillon and Cindy Brown-Spangler of Brewster; her grandchildren Michael Brown, Shannon (Mark) DiFilippo, Amy (Duane) Scott, Robert (Ginger) Brown, Sara Spangler and Matthew Brown and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son Leslie Paul Brown in 2001; three brothers and one sister. A Funeral Service will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, January 09, 2014, at 11 A.M., Her nephew Pastor Kenneth Mossor officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 08, 2014 from 4 to 8P.M. at the funeral home and 1 hour to the service. Burial at Rose Hill Memory Gardens.
