Doris Mae Hazel, 85, of Massillon, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Doris was born on August 23, 1936, in Bloomington, Indiana, the daughter of Carl and Isabelle (Margazano) Lint. She was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1954 graduate of Washington High School. She was a hairdresser. Doris worked at Beauty Queen and retired from John Thompson’s Hair Salon. She also taught at Massillon Beauty School for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling, bowling, boating, skiing, camping, going on cruises, and most of all spending time with friends and family. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Hazel; special friend, Bob Gresh; son, Douglas Hazel; and sister, Edna Kemerer. She is survived by her son, Steve (Brenda) Hazel; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steve) Young-Schonauer, and Monica (Scott) Crescenze; great-grandchildren, Payton, Danica, Maddie, Peyton, Bryce, Andrea, and Camdyn; daughter-in-law, Jackie Hazel; and other grandchildren, Matt (Missy) Kratz, Kylie, Jacob, and Audriana. Friends and family may gather at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, from 2-4 p.m. Please wear your Ohio State, Browns, Indians, or Massillon Tigers attire. Masks must be worn and social distancing is strongly recommended.
