Doris Anne Evanoff

Doris Anne Evanoff, age 83, of Massillon, is home. Her homecoming occurred on Monday, December 1, 2008 at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. She was born on October 21, 1925. She was the daughter of Charles J. Edwards and Isabele (Beyers) Edwards. She was a member of Perry Christian Church where she was a devoted Sunday School teacher. Underlined in her Bible from Philipians 1:20-21, 23 are these words - “The thing I want and hope for is that I will not fail Christ in anything. I hope that I will have the courage now, as always, to show the greatness of Christ in my life here on earth. I want to do that if I die or if I live. To me the only important thing about living is Christ. And even death would be profit for me. It is hard to choose between the two. I want to leave this life and be with Christ. That is much better.” (NCV) This is how she faithfully lived her life. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, John, and her two children Dr. Richard (Echo) Evanoff, of Tokyo, Japan and Nancy (Bill) Wells of Massillon. She is also survived by six grandchildren Elia, Kai, Hugh, and Lenny Evanoff of Japan and Stephen and Jeffrey (Carley Anne) Barnes of Canton; sisters, Shirley (Edward) Sabaka and Linda Lehberger both of Canton. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-6:00pm at Perry Christian Church with Rev. Rod Geiger officiating. The memorial service will immediately follow.
