Doris Ann (Schwitzgable) Kakos, 80, passed away surrounded by her family early Friday evening, February 22, 2013, following a brief illness. She was born in Canton on November 16, 1932 to the late August "Gust" & Edna Schwitzgable. Doris graduated from Lehman High School and worked many years as a Book Keeper at Trinity United Church of Christ. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Welcome In Sunday School Class and Trinity Circle. Doris was a longtime member of many groups and numerous card clubs. She volunteered for many years at the Mercy Medical Center Gift Shop, and often visited shut-ins and the elderly. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela (Robert) Sturm of Perry Township, Joan (Larry) Dunnie of Massillon, and a son, Dean (Pamela) Kakos of Jackson Township, six grandchildren, Heather ( Steve) Egert, Michelle Alex, Ryan & Lisa Dunnie, Alycia & Erica Kakos, two step grandchildren, Julie (Andy) Harrison and Steve (Katreena) Sturm and one step-great-granddaughter, Sylena Sturm two brothers, James & Thomas Schwitzgable and a sister, Janet Schwitzgable. In addition to her parents, Doris is also preceded in death by a sister, Verda Winslow and a brother, Richard Schwitzgable. Friends may gather at the Trinity United Church of Christ, 3909 Blackburn Rd. NW, Canton on Monday, February 25, 2013 from 5:00PM-8:00PM and on Tuesday February 26, 2013 from 10:00AM-11:00AM. A service celebrating her life will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday. Inurnment will be in Sunset Hills Burial Park at a later date.
