Doreen Ann Scuderi Benchea

Doreen Ann Scuderi Benchea of Brentwood, TN passed away peacefully on December 9, 2009 at Alive Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and a proud grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Traian, her three loving children, Thomas (Carrie) Benchea, Dr. Elizabeth (Matthew) Block, and Marissa Benchea, her five cherished grandchildren, Sarah Lauren Benchea, Nathan Thomas Benchea, Thomas Ferdinand Block, Andrew James Block, and Eloise Virginia Block, her brother, Joseph (Mary Alice) Scuderi, her sister, Joann (David) Gruber and many nieces and nephews. Doreen was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Thomas Paul Scuderi and her mother Dorothy Scalzo Scuderi. Doreen was born in Akron, Ohio where she graduated from Our Lady of the Elms High School and attended Kent State University. She was a member of The Cathedral of the Incarnation Catholic Church in Nashville, TN. She was a woman of grace whose faith in God and devotion to the Virgin Mary were central to her life and to the upbringing of her children. Doreen was a patient, unwavering wife and mother who dedicated her life to her family, and who took great joy in raising her children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held at St. Michael of the Archangel Church in Canton, Ohio on Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at North Lawn Cemetery.
