Donald Wayne Lawrence

Donald Wayne Lawrence, 69, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 31, 2018. Don was born on July 8, 1949 in Massillon, the son of the late Mary (Smith) Lawrence. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1968 graduate of Washington High School. Don was a United States Navy Veteran and proudly served our country during Vietnam. He retired as a machinist after 35 years. Don was a member of the American Legion Post #221, Vietnam Vets Motorcycle Club, and First Baptist Church in Massillon. He is survived by his loving wife Donna J. (Gallagher) Lawrence, with whom he shared 49 years of marriage; his daughters, Joleen Maier and Kemberli Lawrence; grandchildren, Lyndsay Maier and Zane Maier who were the loves of his life; brothers, James (Charnell), Kenneth (Nancy), William (Vickie) and Edward Lawrence; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Don’s life will be held on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 – 6 p.m. Inurnment will be held at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens at a later date.
