Donald S. Beitel, 64, of Massillon, passed away at his home on June 13, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Massillon on August 13, 1958, to the late William and Mardella (Feller) Beitel.
Don was a proud 1977 graduate of Massillon High School. He was a former member of Massillon Baptist Temple and was currently attending United Free Will Baptist Church.
Don began his career at Hydro-Thrift Co. of Massillon and ended his career as a supervisor, at National Heat Exchange where he retired from after many years of service.
He enjoyed the simple things in life. He was an avid Ohio sports fan, especially to his Massillon Tigers and he was also a longtime golfer, playing on many leagues over the years where he made lifelong friendships. Don also enjoyed travelling down south with his wife Marsha, visiting beaches such as Hilton Head.
His greatest passion in life was his family. He was a dedicated dad and grandpa and loved spending time with them, they were the light of his life.
Don will be deeply missed by his daughters Misty Spidell, Dawn (Ricky) Beitel-Beckham and Amanda (Brandon Howard) Beitel; brother Jeffrey (Janice) Beitel; sister-in-law Michelle “Lori” Beitel; stepsisters Irene Jackson and Pauline Swinford; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his loving wife of 39 years, Marsha (Kovatch) Beitel, brothers Richard and William Beitel and granddaughter Kassandra Yarnell.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 17th from 10am to 12pm at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will begin at noon with Pastor Randall Keffer officiating and burial will follow and take place at Brookfield Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion for Don.
