Donald E. Luker, age 81 of Massillon, died Monday, April 25, 2005 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. He was born on January 26, 1924 in California, PA and was the son of the late William A. & Edna Lenore (Saunders) Luker. He was an area resident for 80 years. In 1982 he retired from the Union Drawn Division of Republic Steel following 44 years of service. He was a 1941 graduate of Washington High School. He served his country during WWII, where he was a decorated veteran. He was a member of the 14th Air Force Association, a life member of the Ohio College of Mass therapy, the Foreman’s Club of Union Drawn and the Flying Tigers Association. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, whom he married on November 15, 1942, Maxine Luker of the home, his son and daughter in law, Richard M. & Vicki Luker of Uniontown, OH, his daughter & son in law, Cathy Jean & Edward Stanton of Mantua, OH, his grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew & Kim Luker of Port Angeles, WA, Marc D. (and fiancé Janel) Luker of Columbus, OH, Kristen Marie & Larry Deem of Canton, OH, Karen Lea & Thom Gilman of Loudenville, OH, Kelly Lynn & Shannon Ward of Canton, Amanda Kay & Troy Haidet of Myrtle Beach, SC, Melissa & Andrew Riederer of Columbus, 4 great grandchildren and his brother and sister in law Ralph & Carol Luker of Battleground, WA. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. at the Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home with Rev. Leslie Peine officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday (TODAY) from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. and on Thursday one hour before the service. Memorials may be made in his name to the donor’s favorite charity.
