Donald L. Warner, age 70 of Massillon, peacefully went to his rest July 31, 2024 after a 4 year courageous battle with cancer.
He retired from Waikem Motors with 32+ years of dedicated service. He loved his job, the many salespeople he mentored, and hundreds of repeat customers who became personal friends loving him, too. He was valued and will be remembered for his honesty, enduring kindness, infectious smile, tremendous sense of humor, and the warmth and respect freely shared with everyone he met. As a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, his playfulness earned him his most treasured title by his grandchildren; that of “Pop Pop”.
He leaves behind his loving wife and high school sweetheart, Sandy; daughter Jenifer (Landon) Locke; son Matthew (Lynn) Warner; brothers and sisters, Rita (Richard) Smith, Ronnie (Rosie) Warner, Jimmy Warner, Johnny (Nancy) Warner, Larry Warner; and sister and brother-“in-love”, Cindy Ferguson, Dave and Kathy Vaughn; numerous nieces and nephews; and his pride and joy, grandchildren Clara and Oliver Locke, and Maverick Warner.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Doris Warner, sister Karen Bash, brother Gary Warner, sister-in-law Linda Warner, and “brother” Pastor Ken Ferguson.
There will be a public visitation from 5 to 7 pm on August 9th at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE, Massillon.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Don Warner Memorial Fund, Massillon Connections Church, PO Box 1145 Massillon, OH 44648 and/or Aultman Compassionate Care Center, 2821 Woodlawn Ave. NW, Canton, OH 44708 with special thanks to those who took loving care of Don and his family at the end of his valiant fight.
