Donald L. Goss

Donald L. Goss, age 66 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1944 in Massillon. Donald was a lifelong resident of Massillon. He worked for Crown Cork and Seal for 41 years. Don was a United States Army veteran and served our country in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post #221, V.F.W. Post #3124, and Eagles #190. In his spare time he enjoyed yard work, vacationing at Siesta Key Beach with his wife and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Oscar Goss. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Elaine M. (Prieto) Goss whom he married on August 30, 1974; his children, Lisa (Robert) Viront-Schmidt, John Elefante and Terri (Bill) Elefante-Rinder; his mother, Dorothy (Swaggart) Goss; his grandchildren, Michael Rinder, Lindsey (Bernie) Marucci, John Rinder, Scott Viront and Chad Elefante; his siblings; Larry (Sally) Goss, Judy Clark of TX and Vicky (Don) Schilling; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Chow, the staff of Mercy Medical Radiation Department, Mercy Medical Oncology Floor and Mercy Hospice for all of their compassionate care. A Celebration of Don's Life will be held on Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. Pastor Gary A. Smith will be officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
