Donald E. "Poppy Don" Brugh

Donald E. “Poppy Don” Brugh, 67, passed away on December 5, 2021, following a brief illness. He was born on May 19, 1954 to the late William E. and Isabelle M. (Pongrat) Brugh in Massillon. Donald was a 1973 graduate of Tuslaw High School. He worked with his family at Dairy Queen until 2002 and then became a professional driver for Penske Truck Leasing, retiring in 2017. Poppy Don was dedicated to his family and was very active in their lives. He was renown for his love of music and his ability to have an endless conversation. He is survived by his daughter, Donni Renee Brugh; step-daughters, Theresa Damon, Cathy (Mark) Kester and Carol (Michael) Pritchard; seven grandchildren, Megan, Amanda, Jordan, Chelsea, Mackenzie, Miyah and Kaiden; and six great-grandchildren In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his life partner, Scharon Valentine; granddaughter, Samantha; and brothers, Richard and David Brugh. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 1pm-3pm with a Celebration of Donald’s life at 3pm. A private family burial will be held on Monday at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
