Donald C. Hill, 85, of Massillon passed away Thursday afternoon at Mercy Medical Center, Canton. He was born March 10, 1923 in Brewster, OH the son of the late G.A. and Mignon (DeVine) Hill. Donald was a retired railroad foreman with Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He was an Army veteran of W.W.II serving in France, and Germany. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Clinton Lodge # 47 F. & A.M. Donald was also a member of the Brewster American Legion Post # 160. He was a former member and past president of Brewster Village Council, and was a scout master for Boy Scout Troop 920 in Brewster. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and Cleveland Browns fan. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He married Jessie (McGuire) May 24, 1947, and she preceded him in death January 8, 1975. Donald is survived by his children Gregory A. (Dianne) Hill of Massillon, James F. Hill of Massillon, Peggy A. (Bryan) Hill-Cruz of Cape Coral, FL., Robert T. (Jane) Hill of Bolivar, OH, and Nancy M. Morrison of Massillon; grandchildren Amy (Kevin) Faberty, Michael Hill, Donald C. (Erica) Hill, Joshua (Sarah) Hill, Jessie Vernier, Jeffrey Morrison, Jason (Christen) Morrison, Joseph Morrison, Jamie Morrison, Mason Kersnick, Kelly J. Black, and P. Russell Moore ; nine great-grandchildren; brother Dr. E.A. Hill; sister Mary Jane (William) Mauger; many nieces and nephews; long time friend and companion Barbara Horton of Massillon. Calling hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at Paquelet Funeral Home 1100 Wales Rd. NE. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Burkhardt officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
