Don Z. Liebermann

Don Z. Liebermann, 97, formerly of Massillon, passed away on August 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on December 31, 1920 in Massillon to the late John and Bertha (Glasgow) Liebermann. He married the love of his life, Edna Sandy, on January 31, 1942 and they shared 76 wonderful years together. Don worked as a salesman for General Foods and retired from there after 35 years of service. He was a lifelong member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, was active in the Kiwanis and Tiger Boosters and he volunteered for the Salvation Army. In his spare time, Don taught woodcarving at Drage and Canton Vocational Schools and was part of the Hall of Fame Woodcarvers Club. He also loved his Massillon Tigers and enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping and fishing. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife Edna; daughter Jeanne (Rick) Hanigan; grandson Ryan (Janine) Hanigan. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son Donald and two brothers Robert and William. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. and burial will take place immediately after at Union Lawn Cemetery.
