Don Koehnlein

September 19, 1935 — September 28, 2022

Don Koehnlein, age 87, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2022. He was born on September 19, 1935, and was a Massillon resident for most of his life. He was a beloved husband to the late Marty Koehnlein (Mitchell); loving father to Katy (Matt) Danner and Sue (Eric) Staub; proud grandfather to John and Matt Staub; brother of the late Joanne (Donnie) Mitzel; and dear uncle and loyal friend to many.

Don worked for The Hoover Company in North Canton, Ohio for 35 years and proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserve. For many years, he was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, the Massillon Elks and the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club. He attended Kent State University and was a life-long Ohio State and Massillon Tiger football fan. Don will be remembered for being a devoted husband, father, and friend throughout his life. He and Marty were married for 47 years and shared countless laughs together.

Don kept his wonderful sense of humor and good-natured spirit throughout all of his days.

Don’s family would like to thank the caregivers at Traditions Hospice and Gables of Green Memory Care who worked tirelessly to ensure Don was comfortable in his final months.

Friends and relatives can gather at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Road NE, Massillon, OH 44646 on Monday, October 3, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held immediately following at 6:00 p.m.

Inurnment will be at Northlawn Cemetery in North Canton, Ohio at a later date.
