Don Bartholomew, age 82 of Massillon passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012. He was born in Canton on January 23, 1930 to the late Luther and Florence Bartholomew. He was also preceded in death by his sister Wanda and brother Richard. He graduated from Bath High School in 1948 and attended Heidelberg College before being drafted into the Army during the Korean War. Don was a self-employed businessman having owned and operated Massillon Floor Inc. for 40 years. He was also an accomplished artist and craftsman. He enjoyed painting pictures and building furniture. He will be remembered not only for his wonderful sense of humor, but also for his strong work ethic, his loving kindness and his willingness to help others. Don had a deep faith and was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where he served in many positions through the years. Don also took great pride in his family and was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife Rose; daughters Denise (David) Price, Teresa (Mark) Isler and son Doug (Susan) Bartholomew; 7 grandchildren, Brandon (Erica), Gina (Billy), Molly (Dustin), Kelly, Sarah, Sam and Joshua; and 1 great grandchild, Lukas. He is also survived by Kim (Diana) Malinowski, David, Susan and Becky. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 12 noon. Pastor Julia Wertz will be officiating.
