Dominick 'Mickey' Caracillo

Dominick 'Mickey' Caracillo, age 85 of Massillon passed away August 8, 2012 at Aultman Hospital. He was born December 27, 1926 in Massillon to the late Dominic & Carmela (DeGiorgio) Caracillo and was a 1945 graduate of Washington High School. He served in the Navy during WW II in the South Pacific. He worked for Republic Steel for 17 years and Superior Brand Meats for 25 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a life time member of both Knights of Columbus #554 and the VFW of Navarre. In 1974 he was the champion bowler in the 5th Annual Knights of Columbus State Tournament in Toledo. Mickey was a renowned bowler having the pleasure of rolling two perfect 300 games in a series totaling 819 pins in 1980. WHBC recognized Mickey for being the first to ever roll two 300 games in one series in Stark County. Mickey was dedicated family man, involved in all of his children's activities. Mickey was recognized as five gallon blood donor by the American Red Cross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother: Florence Scassa and Anthony 'Tony' Caracillo. Mickey is survived by his wife, Louise (Villella) Caracillo with whom he just celebrated their 63rd anniversary on July 30th. They have three children and their spouses: Rosemarie (Nick) Mendes of Rochester Hills, MI, Michael (Barbara) Caracillo of Colorado Springs, CO and Jeffrey (Carla) Caracillo of St. Peters, MO. There are three grandchildren; Angel, Joseph and Dominick and a great granddaughter Kailey. Friends are invited to attend the 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, his pastor Fr. Raymond Paul will officiate. His final resting place will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Shruti Trehan and the staff at North Canton Medical Foundation for their wonderful love and care.
