Dolores Mae Peterson born August 27, 1935, went home to be with the Lord on October 21, 2012 after a courageous two-year battle with ALS. Dolores was born in Schenectady, New York, and after moving to Canton, Ohio met and married her high school sweetheart Ralph Peterson Jr. She graduated from Canton McKinley High School, was a longtime member of St. Michaels Church, and is a current member of St. Benedicts Church, both in Canton. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and adored grandmother who went above and beyond in everything she did. She had many gifts and talents, which she shared with those around her to make their lives easier and happier. She was a selfless giver of smiles, hugs, and kind words. Dolores was warm and comforting, just like her favorite color yellow. Though she will be greatly missed, she will never be forgotten because she lives forever in our hearts' fondest memories. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Virginia Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband, Ralph Peterson, her daughters and sons-in-law, Joe and Debi Davis and Kenny and Kristen Dixon, her son and daughter-in-law Kurt and Sue Peterson and her grandchildren Amanda Davis, Matthew and Michael Dixon, Emily, Rachel, and Drew Peterson. The family would like to thank Dr. Grossman and the entire staff at Compassionate Care at Woodlawn, as well as Ellen and the homecare aides who assisted during the last 6 months, for their kindness and care during this difficult time. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, October 25, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Benedicts Catholic Church on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 11A.M., Father Robert Kaylor, officiating. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Habitat for Humanity of Greater Stark County, 2800 Leemont Ave. N.W., Canton, OH 44709. Paquelet Funeral Home & Crematory – 330-833-3222
