"Together Again" Dolores Brinker Sheehan passed on Wednesday May 31 at the age of 97 while still residing in her home. She was the daughter of Marie and Archie Brinker. Carl Sheehan, her husband of 57 years, preceded her in death in 2003. Dolores and Carl designed the home they built together in a woods of wildflowers. Dolores was a 1938 graduate of Washington High School and graduated from The Case Western Reserve’s Cleveland Institute of Art in 1942. She taught art at Canton Timken High School for three years. After raising her children Dolores taught art for another 17 years at Perry High School. Art and travel were her passions. She loved to paint water colors of landscapes, craft works of silver and enamel, and design and sew clothing. Dolores also enjoyed planting flowers and designing flower arrangements. She traveled across the country and Europe with Carl. Dolores and Carl enjoyed sailing their 22 foot Catalina sail boat on Atwood Lake and the Chesapeake Bay as well as sailing trips to the Caribbean and Bahamas. At age 85 Dolores painted a mural of the ancient city of Jerusalem for the Church of the Covenant. Dolores is survived by her children Susan Fox and Tim Sheehan, grandchildren Megan Fox and Devin Fox, and son-in-law Richard Fox. Dolores was a member of the Church of the Covenant where she served as a Deacon and Elder. She was also a 60 year member of the College Club of Canton, a member of the Stark County and Ohio Teacher’s Associations, Massillon Senior Center Writing Class, and the Church of the Covenant Women’s Circle. A service of remembrance will take place on Monday, June 5th at 1:00 p.m. at Church of the Covenant, 3014 Fulton Drive NW, Canton, OH 44718. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
