Diane E. Eaglowski

Diane E. (Sisler) Eaglowski, 59 of Canton, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on July 31, 1949 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of John H. and Rose Marie (DeLaura) Sisler. Diane married her husband William Eaglowski on June 14, 1969 and together they were planning their 40th anniversary celebration. Diane taught kindergarten through second grade at Our Lady of Peace and St. Joan of Arc Catholic schools for 34 years. She was a 1967 graduate of Central Catholic High School and graduated from Walsh University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education in 1972. She returned to complete her Masters of Arts in Education in 2005. Diane was passionate in her role as a teacher and placed a special emphasis on literacy. She was the winner of the Golden Apple Award in 2007 signifying excellence in teaching in the Diocese of Youngstown. Diane was well known as an educator throughout the community. She was a member of St. Michael Church and extended her work with children by participating in the Liturgy of the Word. She was a devoted wife, mother and Nana. She was preceded in death by her father John H. Sisler. She is survived by her husband, William Eaglowski; her children and their spouses, Lora L. (Anthony) Harley of Canton and Elizabeth A. (Jason) Pratt of Massillon; her mother, Rose Marie Sisler of Canton; her grandchildren, Brocton Pratt, Hannah Rose and Luke Harley; her brother and sister, Randy Sisler of N. Canton and Mary Ann (Gary) McManus of Medina and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 27th, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Canton. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Sunday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hills Burial Park in Canton. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the St. Joan of Arc Tuition Assistance Fund. Messages of sympathy and support may be sent to the family at www.paquelet.com.
