Denver “Max” N. Whitsel, age 80 of Canton, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 14, 1942 to the late John and Madelon (Morrow) Whitsel. He was a 1959 graduate of United High School in Hanoverton, Ohio.

He retired as a Loader/ Leader from LTV Steel (Formerly Republic Steel) after 51 years of service. He was an avid golfer, traveler, and hobbyist. He was the glue that held the family together. Max was known to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. He served as a father figure to many people. Max will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving father, Pop-Pop, uncle, brother, and friend.

Max leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Robin (Greg) Croft, Madelon (John) Hannay, Shirley (Ron) Nations, and Carla (Doug) Whitsel; his brother Jerome (Ardis) Warcloud; 24 grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of his life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on October 17, 2022 at 12 noon. The family will receive friends from 10a.m until the time of the service. Messages of sympathy and support can be sent to Max’s Tribute Wall at www.paquelet.com
