Dennis W. Bickford

Dennis W. Bickford, 80, of Massillon passed away Monday August 14, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born Dec 21, 1936 in MacDunn West Virginia to the late John Henry and Grace Bickford. He graduated from Montgomery High School. Dennis worked at Republic Steel and retired after more than 40 years. He is survived by his loving spouse Endia Lay who he married on September 16,1960 in Ward WV. They shared 56 loving years together. Dennis is also survived by his three daughters, Denise (Dave) Bressler, Connie (Greg ) Sexton of Bahama NC, and Valarie (Fiancé Matt Gordon) of Solon OH. Also surviving is his brother Donald Bickford of Brewster OH, his grandchildren Roshelle (John) Fetzer, Keri (Rich) Miller, Derw and Shelbi Bressler, and Caitlin and Keltsey Mattachione, and 6 great grandchildren. Dennis’ love for country music was like no other; he had two bands- Dennis Bickford and the Country Music Sensations, and The Dusty Road Band. He was a member of the Ohio Buckeye Country Music Association and the Ohio Country Western Music Association Canton Chapter. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and West Virginia Mountaineer Fan. He had a great sense of humor and always had a joke or a one liner ready to tell someone. Dennis was a family man who enjoyed gardening, traveling, and volunteering at the Grace Fellowship Food Bank. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all. Friends and family may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6pm-8pm and Saturday, August 19 from 12pm -1pm with a Celebration of his life at 1pm at the funeral home.
