Dennis "Denny" L. Griffiths

Dennis “Denny” L. Griffiths, 70, a lifelong resident of Massillon, passed away on April 26, 2022, at the Laurels of Massillon after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on September 5, 1951, to the late Thomas and Norma (Whitmer) Griffiths. Denny was a proud 1969 graduate of Washington High School where he was a member of the Washingtonians Select Chorus. He dedicated most of his life as an employee for Republic Steel and retired after 44 years of service. In addition to being an avid Tiger fan, Denny was also a loyal fan to all Cleveland sports teams. When he wasn’t working or cheering on his favorite teams, you could more than likely find Denny on a golf course. He may not have always had a golfer’s patience, but he sure had the passion for the game and enjoyed playing it. Being a lifelong resident in Massillon made Denny quite a regular at some of the local restaurants here in town too, especially the Cameo Grill, where he enjoyed the food but also enjoyed the social aspect of it as well. Denny was most importantly a devoted father, brother, grandfather and was always proud of each one of them. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Carissa Griffiths and his son Brandon (Heather) Griffiths; his beloved grandsons Justin and Gavin; brothers Benny (Suzanne) Griffiths and Scott (Cindy) Griffiths; and his furry granddog Katie, who he absolutely adored; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Denny was preceded in death by his sister Bess Ann Boylan. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29th from 5-7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m.
