Delmar D. Phillips, 82, of Jackson Township, passed away peacefully at the Laurels of Massillon surrounded by his family, following a brief illness. He was born in Killbuck on May 25, 1930 to the late Joseph S. & C. Bernice (McKee) Phillips. Del was a graduate of Killbuck High School, Class of 1948 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was Vice President at Campbell Oil Company retiring in 1994. He attended Church of the Lakes and was a member of the Massillon Elks, American Legion, Post 441 and was an avid fisherman, gardener, golfer and loved playing cards. Del and Betty loved to spend the winters in Venice, FL. He is survived by his wife, Betty L. (Smith) Phillips, whom he married on July 28, 1951, two daughters, Marsha (Thomas) Knauss of Cleveland, Denise McGinnis of Massillon, four grandchildren, Allison (Marcus) Grimm, Meghan (Russ) Adams, Eric (Tanya) Knauss, Kirsten (Patrick) Riester, four great-grandchildren, Lexie, Olivia and Drew Adams, and Natalie Riester . He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Phillips of Millersburg. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Eugene and Bob Phillips. Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Hills Burial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Hospice, Salvation Army or the charity of the donor's choice.
