Della May Shanower

Della May (Gardiner) Shanower passed on to the rest of her eternal life on August 8, 2021. She was a member of the very first graduating class of Tuslaw High Scool, graduating in 1962. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Ruby May (Littrell) Gardiner and William Henry Gardiner, her sister and brother-in-law Lois Ann (Gardiner) Indorf and George N. Indorf, her niece, Gwenn R. (Indorf) Scott, and her precious dog, Sparky. She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Corlin (Corky) Mathias Shanower, her sons, Garrett William Shanower and Patrick Alan Shanower, and a grandson, Alan Seery, a sister, Mary Lou (Gardiner) Shanklin, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, nephews and great-grand nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her very good friends, Dorothy, Janet, Judy, Pat, and Shirley, and her Living Hope Church family, where she worshipped since the 1990's. Before that, she worshipped at Newman Baptist Church, She had many fond memories of both churches. She was an active member in both, serving as Sunday School teacher, choir member, she helped with Bible School and Children's Church. She also loved to crochet afghans and give them to family, friends and the needy people of Canton. Family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon on Saturday, August 14, 2021 from 1-3pm with a Celebration of Della’s Life at 3pm, Pastor Brian Brooks officiating.
