Delbert Lewis Nutter, age 78, born November 14, 1941, passed away on March 29, 2020 with family beside him. He is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ermal Nutter, his wife Cindy & his eleven siblings. Delbert is survived by his daughter Denise (Michael) Panchur, son Scott Nutter and his grandson Noah Panchur. Delbert’s standard uniform was blue jeans and a ball cap even on a hundred-degree day. During cold months, flannel shirts were the go-to complemented by collared golf polos in warm months. Delbert was a concrete laborer all his life employed by several concrete & constructions companies over the course of his work life. Great at math, terrible at spelling, he loved to work the puzzles in the daily paper to expand his vocabulary and improve his spelling with a scratch pad and a dictionary handy. Delbert was a regular on the golf course when weather permitted. He loved to recount his great drives, successful putts and winning score – purely coincidental that he was usually the scorekeeper. Weekend invitations for activities were subject to his Euchre schedule, another of his avid hobbies – Orioles Nest #270. Delbert liked to finish the day with a cold beer, bad jokes and sports television with his ‘club’ friends. He will be missed. In deference to COVID-19 safety, the family has planned a private, non-traditional service to celebrate the life of Delbert Nutter for Wednesday, April 8th at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Delbert will be laid to rest at North Lawn Cemetery alongside his beloved wife Cindy.
