Debra L. Friend

Debra L. Friend, 54, of Massillon, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2019. Debra was born on January 11, 1965 in Canton, the daughter of the late Harold and Delores (Thane) Nelson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1983 graduate of McKinley High School. Debra enjoyed collecting stuffed bears, watching crime shows and reading novels. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Rod Friend of whom she shared 34 years; her children, Amber (Mike) Ritterbeck, Michael Friend and Allyssa Friend; grandchildren, Scarlett and Everett; brothers, Steve (Dawn) Nelson, Scott (Heidi) Nelson, and Jeff (Bobbie) Nelson; sisters, Christine Nelson and Nikki Nelson; and several nieces and nephews.
