Debra Jean Johnson

Debra Jean Johnson, 55 of Massillon, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Debra was born on December 7, 1961 in Canton, the daughter of George and Shelby (Gatten) Carson. She was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1980 graduate of Glen Oak High School. Debra worked at Fisher’s for 26 years. She loved antiques and flea markets. Debra attended River Tree Church in Jackson Township. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Penny Talbert. She is survived by her husband Rick Johnson whom she married on September 26, 1981; her children, Michael and Brandon Johnson; brothers and sister, Bill (Linda) Carson, Nancy Dunn, and Chuck (Leslie) Carson; grandson, Gunnar Johnson; and father-in-law, Richard (Margaret) Johnson. A Celebration of Debra’s life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Paquelet Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brookfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday from 10 - 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
