Deborah Ann Gepfrey, 72, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Debbie was born in Orrville, Ohio on July 24, 1952 the daughter of the late James and June (Hassler) Rope.

Debbie was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1970 graduate of Washington High School. Debbie worked for Stark County District Library and Canton Montessori School for many years before her retirement. She was a social butterfly at Quarry Ridge Apartments, where she was involved in all of the social activities. She was an avid reader, loved crocheting, collecting pig figurines, and was a Harry Potter and Looney Tunes fanatic. Debbie was a huge Massillon Tiger Fan. She also loved taking trips to Amish Country. Her great-grandson, Dominick was her pride and joy. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jocelyn (James) Gaul; grandchildren, James Gaul, II, and Abigail (Korey) Pochubay; great-grandson, Dominick Pochubay; sister, Mickey Miller; brother-in-laws, Rolly Shanklin, and Dan (Tonie) Carr; sister-in-law, Barb Gepfrey; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tim Gepfrey; sister, Pat Shanklin; brother-in-law, Jim Miller; nephew, Jeremy Carr; brother-in-law, Ron Gepfrey; and father and mother-in-laws, Bill and Eleanor Gepfrey.

The family will receive friends at Paquelet Funeral Home on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 6-8 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held at Divine Mercy Parish - St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 10 am. Fr. John Sheridan, Celebrating and Fr. Michael Seifert, Concelebrating.
