Deborah A. Canton

Deborah A. Canton, age 84, passed away on February 19, 2022. She was born in East Liverpool, OH on September 6, 1937 to the late Blaine and Josephine Smith. She was a retired church organist for over 40 years, a Canton City Schools employee for 20 years, and a Home Healthcare Worker for 20 years until retirement. In addition to her parents, Debbie is preceded in death by her daughter Mary Snyder. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John R. Canton; brother Darrell Smith (Marlene); sons, Mark Schoolcraft (Gina), Curtis Canton (Nancy), John Canton (Bobbie), Jim Canton (Cathy); daughter, Sharon Schoolcraft; grandchildren, Vanessa Watson, Natalie Schoolcraft, Stephanie Schoolcraft, Alyssa Schoolcraft, Roman Schoolcraft, Kyle Arenofsky, Matthew Canton, Michael Canton, Madison Canton, Samantha, Sarah and Jonathan Canton; and great-grandchildren Maleah Hamilton and Chloe Roehrig. Debbie was passionate about her family and friends and an ace card player, especially euchre. Her passion for living was contagious. She died with her loving family surrounding her. A private family ceremony will be held at Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon.
