David W. Dawson

David W. Dawson, 74, of Massillon, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021. David was born on November 28, 1946, in Massillon, the son of the late George and Anne (Geis) Pinis, Jr. He graduated from Washington High School in 1964. David worked for Wonder Bread as a driver in sales and retired after 30 years of service. He will be remembered as always thinking of others first. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert E. Dawson; father-in-law, Joseph Failla; and brother-in-law, Tony Zavarelli. He is survived by his loving wife, Joanna (Failla) Dawson, whom he married on May 6, 1995; his children, Dennis (Irene) Dawson and Angela (Thomas) Saltsman; stepchildren, June Arrigo, and Jennifer Matyas; step-grandchildren, Nicole, Renee, Tony and Jimmy; sisters, Luanne (Del) Heddleston, and Georgia (Mark Hudak) Pinis; mother-in-law, Mary Failla; sister-in-law, Julie Zavarelli; and brother-in-law, Frank (Vicki) Failla. A Celebration of David’s life will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
