David Stanton, Jr.

David Stanton, Jr., age 71 of Massillon passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Meadow Wind Health Care Center. David was born on June 21, 1939 in Birmingham, AL the son of the late David and Lonnie Mae (Newman) Stanton, Sr. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Massillon. He touched those he met here in Massillon and will be remembered always by his family and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin, Ronald and James Stanton and his sisters, Carole Hooten and Marjorie Stanton. He leaves to cherish his memory his children Patricia A. (George) Lewis, Michael (Sheryl) Wilson, David (Beth) Stanton III, Katherine (Sam) Williams and Darrell and Ronald Stanton; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; his sisters Betty Stanton of Massillon and Arlene (Rick) Williams of Mobile, AL and a host of nieces and nephews. A Home Going Celebration will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. His pastor, Rev. Reginald Hye will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
