David Leroy Geibel

David Leroy Geibel, 75, of Canton, passed away on January 5, 2023 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born on January 3, 1948 to the late Jesse and Hazel (Manning) Geibel in Massillon, OH. He was a 1966 graduate of Tuslaw High School. He married Louedia Heltzel on April 24, 1971 and they shared 33 years together until her passing on 2004.

David served his country in the U.S. Army in the Vietnam War. He retired as a Production Worker for Quality Castings. He was a member of the Massillon and McKinley Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Sons of Herman, The Massillon AMVETS Post 12 and the Massillon VFW #3124. David enjoyed playing Euchre, Poker, Pinochle, playing the Slot Machines and was a diehard Elvis fan. He was known for his big heart and knew how to make people feel good about themselves. He will be remembered for his tall tales, kind words and loving heart.

David is survived by his loving daughters, Delores M. (Robert) Parr and Jessica A. (Don) Scheufler; his grandchildren Robbie IV and Meagan Parr and Jordan, Leah, and Kayla Scheufler; his sister Carol Geibel; his brother Howard Geibel. In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his brother Robert Geibel.

A Celebration of David's life will be held at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 12 noon. Pastor Andrew Box will be officiating. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will take place at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
