David L. Sams, 69, passed away on February 12, 2021 following a brief illness. He was born in Jackson, TN on August 10, 1951 to A.M. and Helen (McCubbin) Sams. David was the Fixed Operations Manager for Waikem Automotive Group. He was an active member of The Amherst Community Church, where he served as a Deacon, Bible Teacher and a musician. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. (Burleson) Sams, whom he married on September 19, 1970; their children, Kathy (Eric) Worthington and Cory (Renee) Sams; five grandchildren, Ben, Braden, Cameron, Bentley and Baylee; and sister, Marsha Fridley. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Troy Sams. Family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at the Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon with a funeral service to be held at 7pm, Pastors Galen Oakes and Calvin Hamblin, officiating. Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery, Silex, MO. Continuing with COVID-19 precautions, all attending will be asked to follow proper social distancing protocol and masks are required.
