David L. Connell

David Leonard Connell, age 91 of Perry Township, passed away on Saturday, August 11th at the Canton Regency. He was born in 1920 in Elgin, IL and lived there through high school. He graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1943 with a B.A. degree. He then served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1943-46. In 1947 he graduated from the University of Iowa with a M.A. degree. After 37 years of service, he retired as controller of the Ohio operations of Ekco Housewares. Dave was an avid golfer as well as being a member of the Moose Lodge 481 and the V.F.W., Post 3124. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Bessie Connell, wife Naomi (Nomi) Connell and infant daughter, Carol Ann. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, David H. and Anne Connell of Los Altos, CA, son John Connell of Akron, daughter Cathy Connell of Perrysburg, Oh, grandson Erik Connell of Los Altos and brother and sister-in-law Robert and Elaine Connell of Mount Pleasant, MI. In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Dave will be inurned beside his wife at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH Memorial contributions may be made to the Stark County Humane Society, P.O.
