David L. Ashbridge

David L. Ashbridge, 76 of Massillon passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014. He was born on April 15, 1937 in Canton, Ohio and was the son of the late William R. and Dorothy (Mannweiler) Ashbridge. He worked at Fleming Foods retiring in 1995. He was a member of Teamsters Local 92 Retirees Club and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. David enjoyed fishing, mowing the lawn and other outdoor activities. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Judith Griffiths and Donna Reed, his brother, Robert Ashbridge and his son-in-law, Daniel Halter. David is survived by his wife, Jane L. Ashbridge, whom he married on August 3, 1970, his son, Dan Ashbridge, his daughters, Deb (Brad) Patterson and Deanna (Derek) Boyd, stepchildren, Vicki Green, Sonia (Gene) Bergener and Christine Lockhart, 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother Herbert (Florence) Ashbridge, his sisters, Nancy (Keith) Paulus, Mary (Charles) Tucker and Peggy (James) Huffman and his brother-in-laws, William Griffths and Thomas Reed. The family wishes to give special thanks to the staff at Chapel Hill Community for the wonderful care that they gave to David for the past 2 ½ years. Friends may call at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. In accordance with David's wishes a private graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the name of David Ashbridge to the Building Fund at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 4275 Lincoln Way West, Massillon, OH 44647.
