David K. Maier

David K. Maier, 75, passed away at Woodlawn Compassionate Care Center surrounded by his family on Thursday March 21, 2013. He was born on March 8, 1938 in Massillon to the late Russell L. & Audera I. (Kurtz) Maier. David was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1956 and attended Wittenberg and Kent State. He was a supervisor at Schumacher Construction until his retirement. He attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He played on the 1953 & 1954 Massillon State Championship Teams. David was also a member and Past President of the Tuslaw Lions Club. He was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather. An avid Fiat fan he showed his 1959 Bianchina 500 at many car shows. David is survived by two daughters, Valerie Kuzmik of Yuma, AZ, Allison Andlinger of Navarre, a son, Daniel Maier of Lakewood, three grandchildren, Chelcie Andlinger, Lyndsay Maier and Zane Maier, four brothers, Russell W. ( Kathleen) Maier of Naples Fl., Stephen L. (Sandy) Maier of Massillon, Robert P. (Nancy) Maier of Massillon and Charles E. (Carolyn) Maier of North Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy J. Maier. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 2:00PM - 5:00PM. Funeral services will be held on March 25, 2013 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Massillon, Pastor Chip Belanga, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
