David James Forelines

David James Forelines, 87 of Jackson Township, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016. David was born on November 8, 1928 in Freeman, WV the son of the late J. C. and Verna Mae (Wiseman) Forlines. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and proudly served our country during WWII. David worked for Ruhlin Concrete, and retired from Akron Concrete in 1991. He was an avid woodworker, gardener, and enjoyed traveling in his motorhome all throughout the U.S. David was a longtime and dedicated member of Massillon – Church of Christ. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe C., Don, and Bert Franklin Forlines and his sisters, Edna Heindl, Lena Schelcher, Marge Burks, June Eaton, Pat McAlphin and Eleanor Dinsmore. He is survived by his wife, Joyce E. (Enevoldsen) Forelines, whom he shared 64 years of marriage; his children and their spouses, Kathy (Tim) Diana, Sandy (Jeff) Brooks, and Susie (Loren) Wingert; his sisters, Barbara Cordier and Dolly Murphy; his brother, Larry (Bev) Schelcher; his grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Snider, Brooke Longheier, Luke (Jessie) Wingert, Sarah (Dan) Larson, Vincent (Shelby Lechler) Diana; and his great – grandchildren, Jazdyn, Kenzie, and Izaac Longheier, Steven Snider, Dominic and Sullivan Larson. A Celebration of David's life will be held on Friday, March 11, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ: 915 State Street Avenue N.E., Massillon, Ohio. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home: 1100 Wales Road N.E., Massillon, Ohio on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 – 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Massillon Church of Christ.
