David J. Wigginton

David J. Wigginton, age 85, of Canal Fulton, passed away on September 08, 2021. He was born in Canton on August 06, 1936 to the late John and Mildred (Wiandt) Wigginton. He was 1955 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. David married Judith M. Roesch on June 24, 1961, having celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. After his graduation from High School, David served his country in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic on the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Forrestal. David worked as pipefitter for many years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church, Clinton Masonic Lodge #47, the Massillon Shrine Club, a 32nd Degree Valley of Canton Scottish Rite Mason, Eastern Star and a member of Local 94 - Plumbers and Pipefitters. He enjoyed working on his farm raising beef cattle, making hay, and beekeeping in Warsaw, Ohio. David’s pride and joy was spending time with his grandchildren. As a person, David was known for his honesty, integrity and for being supportive. He will forever be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife Judy; his children, John (Cynthia) Wigginton, Elizabeth (Marko) Jesenko, James Wigginton and Andrew (Jamie) Wigginton; his grandchildren, Kelly, Stephanie, Marko, Emily, Abby, Matthew, Jack and Riley; his great-grandchildren Nolan, Angelina, Evelyn and Declan; his sister Norma Kossler and Elaine Wigginton. A Celebration of his life will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Massillon at 11a.m. Fr. George Baum will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 5-8p.m. and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. A Masonic Service will be held at 4:30p.m. on Sunday. A graveside committal will take place at Massillon Cemetery.
