David J. Kasper

David J. Kasper, 52, of Massillon, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. He was born October 6, 1960 in Orlando, FL to the late James R. Kasper & the late Nancy D. (Cupit) Harris. David was a veteran of the US Army serving his country for fourteen years. David was a member of the 4th Squadron, 7th Calvary. He served in Operation Desert Storm/Shield and in Kuwait and was a Paratrooper in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions. David's military commendations include a Purple Heart and two Bronze stars. David later served in the Ohio National Guard, Company B, 216th Engineer Battalion. He continued his service to his country by joining the US Postal Service and worked in the Massillon area for twelve years. He is survived by a daughter, Quincy Alise Kasper of South Webster, a son, Benjamin James Kasper of Laurie, MO, three brothers, Billy Kasper of St. Cloud, FL, Bobby Kasper of Orlando, FL, Danny Kasper of Tampa, FL, three sisters, Kelly L. McCarthy of St. Louis, MO, Cheryl Hazelton of Laurie, MO, Patti Buckmaster of Coalinga, CA and, Tina Motz of Massillon. Friends may call at the Paquelet Funeral Home on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 4PM - 8PM. Military graveside services will be held Friday, January 4, 2013 at 10:30AM in The Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the AMVETS.
