David Heltzel

David G. Heltzel, 51, of Massillon passed away Thursday December 31, 2009 at Mercy Hospital. He was born January 28, 1958 in Warren, Ohio the son of the late David Edward and Elizabeth Kathryn (Sipos) Heltzel. David was a member of the Massillon American Legion, and worked as a carpenter. David enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and Ohio State football. David is survived by his son Staff Sgt. Tristan C. Heltzel of McGuire AFB in New Jersey. Tristan is currently serving in Kuwait. Also surviving are his sisters, Darlene (Gary) Stewart of Navarre, Pam Teague of North Carolina, and Lisa (Timothy) Williams of Massillon; eight nieces and nephews; three step-nieces; very special friends Jim Brinkley, and Bobby and Wendy Scharon who were family to him. Along with his parents David was preceeded in death by his sister Louedia Geibel and brother Edward Heltzel. The family would like to thank Todd and Linda Baumgardner for the support and kindness that they have shown. There will be no calling hours and cremation has taken place.
