David E. Scharver

David E. Scharver, 90, of Massillon, passed away on Thursday, January 13, 2022. David was born on October 7, 1931, in Massillon, the son of the late Roy and Elsie (Kurner) Scharver. He was a lifelong resident of Massillon and a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. David was a United States Air Force veteran and proudly served during the Korean War. He loved walking at Sippo Park. He was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic church where he sang in the choir. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Scharver in 2014, brother, Carter Scharver , sister, Maxine Henderson, and his son-in-law, John Dannemiller. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Patty (Phil) Houser, Cheryl Dannemiller, Tina (Steve) Moffitt, Mike (Ging) Martin, Maria (Jim) Helscel, and Jim Mikulec; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Joyce (William) Cox.
