David 'Bob' R. Jacobs

David “Bob” R. Jacobs age 65 of Massillon formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away Saturday morning at his residence. Bob was born on July 7, 1942 in Peoria, Illinois to Robert and Patricia (Gulick) Jacobs. He graduated from Bradley University in Illinois earning a bachelor of science degree in speech. He had worked for 20 years as a Disc Jockey at WJER in Dover and recently retired from WTUZ 99.9 in New Philadelphia in 2001 following 11 years of service. Bob was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police in Dover, the New Philadelphia Toastmasters Club and Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte (Cole) Jacobs and a sister, Connie Koertge. He is survived by his wife Cathy (Spurrier) Jacobs with whom he celebrated 6 years of marriage on April 7, 2007; son Thomas Jacobs of California; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Rabbi Mordecai Schwab of North Carolina; mother, Patricia Jacobs of Illinois and grandson, Zevi Schwab. Memorial services celebrating Bob’s life will be held Monday, October 15, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Kevin Slyh officiating. Calling hours will be Monday October, 15, 2007 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. Memorial contributions can be made to The Rainbow Connection, P.O.
