David A. Bender, 75, of Canal Fulton, passed away on November 27, 2022, following an extended illness.
He was born on December 28, 1946 to the late Keith and Catherine (Marchand) Bender in Canton, OH.
David was a graduate of Jackson High School, Class of1964. He was a veteran of The United States Navy and worked as a Mechanic for Plain Local School District, retiring in 1998.
He was a member St. Michael's Catholic Church. David loved to play guitar and sing. He wrote stories and poetry. He played St. Nicholas for the Catholic Schools during the Christmas season. An avid woodworker and gardener, David made many items for his family and friends.
David is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis (Maloy) Bender; children, Margret A. Mancuso, Jeff L. (Sue) Bender and Shannon M. Nolan, grandchildren, Krystle (Dave) Kerr, Christopher (Kory) Nolan, Ashley (Zach)Harsh, Katie (Ryan) Bender and Savanah Nolan; and siblings, Mary (Don) Roth, Bob Bender, Linda Corrigan and Jeanne Bender.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by, his siblings, Jim Bender, Ann Halter and Dan Bender.
Visitation will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10am-12pm with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12pm. Burial will follow in Sunset Hills Burial Park.
Memorials are suggested to the St. Michaels Catholic Church.
