Clifford D. Streeter went home to be with the Lord on April 14th, 2024.
He was born on October 17th, 1951, in Massillon, OH to the late Joseph Clifford Streeter and Rozetta (Herring) Streeter. Darnell was a 1970 graduate of Washington High School where he was a shining star in both basketball and football. He then went on to the University of Idaho for two years. Darnell returned home to Massillon to work for Superior Meats for three years (1972 – 1975). He then joined the United States Marine Corp., where he served as a Transportation Officer and was recognized for good conduct and for being a Rifle Marksman (1975 – 1979). During his time in th USMC, Darnell married his high school sweetheart, Inez (Gilmer) Streeter. Together, they raised three wonderful children. Darnell lived a life he loved and loved the life he lived (his words). He never met a stranger. Everyone knew he loved his family, both immediate and extended. Later in life, Darnell had a long-time girlfriend, Audry Lola Turner, whom he was with for over 20 years, until 2014 when she passed away. Darnell loved to sing, dance, play cards and have a good time. In his adult years, he was still active in sports; he played baseball with local adult baseball leagues. Darnell was a hard worker and a very good one to add. He chose the blue-collar line of work and finished his career up with Republic Steel.
In addition to his parents, Darnell is preceded in death by his grandmother Addie L. Herring, grandfather Ernest Herring, stepfather Alfred Brewer, daughter Mya Henderson Streeter, and special Uncle Jackie D. Herring.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children Mianne D. Conley of Canton, OH; Stephanie C. Staples of Frisco, TX; Dontia L. Streeter, Donta M. Streeter, and DaMonda R Streeter, all of Massillon, OH; 19 grandchildren with special acknowledgment to Da’Onta M. Streeter, Daison M. Streeter, Dev’Yani R. Streeter and Jacar A.M.
