Daphne Hodgson

Daphne Hodgson, age 86 of Jackson Township, died on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Affinity Medical Center. She was born on December 29, 1922 in Philpot, KY and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Dessie (Wright) Hoover. Daphne had worked in the nursing field at various facilities and volunteered at Rose Lane and Meadow Wind Health Care Centers. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Massillon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Willard Hodgson in 1989 and her sister Vernadine Rogers. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Shirley Marie and Donald Gates of Jackson Township and her son James Hodgson of the home. Also surviving are her sister in law Catherine Hodgson, her brother in law Ronald Bosley and many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate the life of Daphne Hodgson will take place on Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at First Assembly of God in Massillon (325 Lake Avenue N.E.) Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 P.M. at the Paquelet Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church.
