Daphna I. Grass

Daphna I. Grass, 87, of Navarre, passed away at her residence on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Daphna was born on October 12, 1933, in Raleigh, WV, the daughter of Alton and Nellie (Anderson) Smith. Daphna worked in the cafeteria at Navarre Elementary and retired from the Massillon State Hospital after 30 years of service. She loved her birds and her beloved cat Queenie. Daphna was a member of the Church of Christ in Massillon. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Grass in 1991; grandchildren, Zachary, and Patrick; 1 brother; and 6 sisters. She is survived by her children and their spouses, William H. (Gloria) Grass II, Franklin L. (Patti) Grass, David D. Grass, Kenneth A. Grass, Robert (Sabrina) Grass, and Brenda L. (David) Grass; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters Marcella Cook and Jean Royce. Celebration of Daphna’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 4th, 2021, at 7 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either, the Stark Co.
