Daniel Hykes, age 78 of Jackson Township, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. Daniel was born on April 1, 1933 in Massillon the son of the late Paul and Freda (Byer) Hykes. Dan was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a United States Army veteran serving our country during the Korean War. He worked for Aqua Ohio as a supervisor retiring in 1992. An avid antique dealer and collector, Dan loved flea markets and yard sales. He spent a lot of time traveling as well. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Kathleen 'Becky' (Rice) Hykes with whom he shared 14 yrs. of marriage; his children, Ron (Julie) Hykes of Pickerington, OH, Rinda (Kevin) Hamilton of Warner Robins, GA, and Debby (Jay) Dorosky of Anchorage, AK; his step-children, Carolyn Kracker and David (Julie) Harman both of Jackson Township; his grandchildren, Nick, Garrett and Chad Hamilton, Aubrie dela Cruz, Greg Dorosky, Erin Johnson, Allison Kracker, and Kylee and Kaitlyn Harman; his great-grandchildren, Barron Hamilton and Bryne Johnson; his sister, Darlene (Richard) Hahlen of East Canton; and his nephew Scott Hahlen of Cuyahoga Falls, OH. A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Paquelet and Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home. Chaplain Tim Jensen of Crossroads Hospice will be Officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice. Messages of comfort and support may be sent to the family at www.arnoldlynch.com.
