Daniel Evans Beckham, age 62 of Jackson Twp. died Wednesday June 15, 2011 following a brief illness at Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center Wade Park Campus. He was born in Jacksonville, NC on April 9, 1949 to the late Simp Newton and Rose Ann Beckham. Daniel was the Manager of Appropriations for Republic Steel until retiring in 2009. He received his B.A. in Accounting from Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, PA. He was a member of: Blue Knights International Motorcycle Club, F. & A.M. Canton Lodge, Scottish Rite, Valley of Canton , Tadmore Temple Shrine, Akron, past Commandant and Jr Commandant Marine Corps League McKinley Detachment , Canton , Editor in Chief of the 1st Battalion 9th Marines Proud Warrior News Letter, Past softball coach for the J.G.S.L., an active Toys for Tots volunteer and was an avid Steelers fan. Daniel was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His kindness and generosity was known amongst family, friends and all who came in contact with him. He loved his family, bowling, euchre, riding his Harley, traveling to Marine Corps events and vacationing at Hilton Head Island. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center who are God’s true angels on earth. Daniel is survived by: His loving wife Susan L. Beckham, whom he married on June 20, 1970, son, Kyle A. (Allison) Beckham of Lewis Center, daughter Danielle M. ( Harry) Haines of Massillon, four grandchildren, Sidney, Magnus, Isabella and Rasmus Haines all of Massillon, step-mother, Hazel Beckham of Jacksonville, NC and step- sister Tressa Best of Raleigh, NC. Friends may call Tuesday June 21, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Paquelet Funeral Home, Massillon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church on Wednesday June 22, 2011 at 10:30 am. Committal services will be in the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman at 1:30 pm Wednesday.
