Dana L. Zeller-Skemp, 60, of North Canton, passed away on August 19, 2021. She was born in Canton on October 4, 1960 to the late Herman and Constance (Menendez) Zeller. She was a 1979 graduate of Jackson High School. Dana was a very dedicated employee to Equivant where she worked for many years. She was a beloved mother, sister, and most importantly, the best Nana ever. Being a mother to two daughters was a blessing but an even bigger accomplishment was being a Nana to her three precious granddaughters who she absolutely adored. Dana couldn’t have been happier than to spend her time with “her girls”. Her life was centered on her family and friends and making the best memories with those she loved. Dana was a world traveler and a lover of anywhere that had sunshine including the Outer Banks or the Caribbean which she frequented often with her family or somewhere exotic like Croatia where she traveled with her friend. When she wasn’t busy planning her next trip, Dana was busy planning the next biggest family or class reunion or preparing for the next holiday or special occasion. All holidays, big or small, always included the traditional themed cut out cookies and Christmas was never complete without her one of a kind Christmas wreaths which showed her creativity. As if that didn’t keep her busy enough, Dana spent a lot of time perfecting her garden and flower beds which she was known for and surrounded her house with a welcoming sense of love. To know Dana was the greatest gift; her kind heart, selflessness and infectious smile made it easy to become friends with her. She will be deeply missed by her daughters Caitlin (Gage DeArment) Skemp and Maddie (Brian Knorzer) Skemp; her three grandchildren who were the light of her life, Quinn, Cecelia and Willow; her loving siblings Mark (Chris Shoolis) Zeller, Dan (Bev) Zeller and Helaine (David) Crawford; special nephew and nieces, Brent Crawford, Sara Crawford and Erika Zeller; great-newphew Hunter Landis; and her beloved Grantie Barbara Jackson. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 24th from 3-6 p.m. at the Paquelet Funeral Home in Massillon. A memorial service will follow at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Lung Association which was very important to Dana due to the fact that she was a proud, double lung transplant survivor or to the Stark County Humane Society for her love of animals, especially BIG dogs.
