Dana Lynn McVay; 52, of Massillon, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 02, 2018. She was born on May 11, 1965, daughter of Joyce E. McVay and the late C. Robert “Bob” McVay. Dana spent her life living up to the true definition of a Massillonian. Dana graduated from Washington High School in 1983 and went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Akron. Dana began her career as a Social Worker at Wayne County Children’s Services, and finished her life as a successful and highly respected owner and CEO of ARRAY, Inc. Along with being a mother, daughter, a sister, an aunt, a grandmother, and a friend, Dana was a dedicated member of the community. She served on the boards of Massillon Main Street, and the Historical Massillon Society, where she organized and worked many benefits and functions; always working to improve our great city and carry on the timeless traditions. Besides her community service, Dana had a great passion for softball, which she played for over 40 years of her life, spending every Monday and Friday at Genshaft Ballpark with her All-Star team, The Alibi. Dana was well known and admired amongst her coworkers in the world of Developmentally Disabled individuals and dedicated countless hours to improving the lives of individuals with special needs. She had a fierce passion for Massillon Football. You could always find her dressed and at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium by 5pm on Friday nights. Dana was a well-rounded and kind, offering assistance to anyone who may need it. She was the definition of hard work; full of creativity and intelligence that so many people looked up to and adored. In the last few years of her life, one of her favorite things to do was to spend time with her grandson, teaching him to swim and throw a football. She also enjoyed the times she could put her toes in the sand and breath in the calm ocean breeze.
